Grades and test scores are important, but we want to know more about you. How you challenged yourself in high school, your Common Application essay, recommendations and co-curricular involvement are all part of the admissions process.

We require the SAT or the ACT. You may submit SAT Subject Test results too, but they are not required for admission. Bucknell will accept current and redesigned SAT scores. Learn more about Bucknell and the new SAT.

You’ll need at least two years of one foreign language in high school to be admitted.

At least two-and-a-half years of college-preparatory mathematics are required for admission. Science, engineering and math students need at least three years.

Engineering students are required to have one year of either chemistry or physics. However, we strongly recommend a minimum of three years of science, including chemistry and physics.

If English is not your native language and your high school instruction is not primarily in English, we require results from the TOEFL or IELTS.

We offer three application options: Early Decision I with a deadline of November 15 and Early Decision II and Regular Decision with a deadline of January 15. Admissions and Financial Aid Timeline

We don't interview prospective students, so interviews are not part of the application process. Of course, that doesn't mean that we don't want to meet you. Visit us on campus, check us out on Facebook and connect with counselors via phone or email.

Applying to the College of Arts & Sciences

Select your intended major within the College of Arts & Sciences. If you have not decided which major to pursue, select "Undecided Arts & Sciences" within the College of Arts & Sciences. Due to extremely limited space, there will be few if any opportunities for Arts & Science students to transfer into the Colleges of Management or Engineering.

Applying to the College of Management

Select your intended major within the College of Management. If you know you want to join the College of Management but have not decided which of the four majors to pursue, select "Undecided Management" as your intended major. Due to extremely limited space, there will be few if any opportunities for Arts & Sciences or Engineering students to transfer into the College of Management.

Applying to the College of Engineering

Select your intended major within the College of Engineering. If you know you want to join the College of Engineering but have not decided which of its majors to pursue, select "Undecided Engineering" as your intended major. Due to extremely limited space there will be few if any opportunities for students to transfer into Engineering from the Colleges of Arts & Sciences or Management.
