Whether we are engineers or project managers, biologists or philosophers, social scientists or poets, we all have something to contribute to the long-term viability of our University, our society and our planet, and we understand that it’s frequently at the intersection of these disciplines that true breakthroughs happen. At Bucknell, we define sustainability broadly — encompassing environmental, social and economic facets — and take an interdisciplinary approach to exploring and building knowledge from a multitude of directions.
The interdisciplinary bachelor of arts major in environmental studies is for students with an interest in the environmental problems faced by humans, with special concern for their humanistic, policy and social science aspects. We also offer a bachelor of arts in environmental science as a coordinate major.Environmental Studies
