Prior to receiving a bachelor's degree in commerce and finance, Dave Trout was a member of the Men's Glee Club, Chorale, Christian Association, and Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He also worked with WVBU and L'Agenda.
Since graduation, he has been a loyal and tireless volunteer worker for his university. He has been a member of the Bucknell Board of Trustees since 1971. Having served the board in many capacities, he is currently vice chair and member of the Campaign Cabinet.
A member of the Bison Club executive committee, he received the Bison Club Award in 1979. He also is a former Alumni Association director and has served as president of the Phi Kappa Psi trustees. He is the vice president and former president of the Alumni Club of Connecticut. He also has been active as a regional committee member for The Bucknell Campaign and a dedicated participant with his class reunion committees.
His wife, Leanne (Freas) Trout '50, has also been an outstanding volunteer for Bucknell, presently serving with her husband as co-chair of their 50th reunion class gift committee. Having established the Trout Family Scholarship, Dave and Leanne have been continually strong benefactors of the university.
It also is noteworthy that so many members of the Freas and Trout family have attended Bucknell.
