Mission Statement
The English department's dedication to the vital humanistic work of storytelling places us at the heart of Bucknell's liberal arts curriculum. As part of a department that takes advantage of the unique strengths of three programs — creative writing, film/media studies and literary studies — students use the power of words and images to make meaning of human experiences and the natural world. As a department, our faculty and students value and model the necessity of critical thinking and self-reflection.
