Located directly across Route 15 from the main campus, West Fields is home to six varsity athletics teams as well as Bucknell recreation and intramural programs. The complex has been developed in several coordinated phases. Field hockey, women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s soccer have benefited greatly from new and upgraded facilities, which are among the best in the Patriot League.
We seek donor support to complete the final phase, which will enhance the baseball and softball facilities. New features will include elevated grandstands with chair-back and bleacher seating, a second-level press box with a dedicated sound system, and field lights that meet NCAA standards.
Academic, Residential & Athletic Facilities
Your WE DO support has provided outstanding new buildings that benefit students across campus.
Home to the social sciences, Academic West is the University's first new academic building since 2004. The 70,000-square-foot building includes sustainable design features and received silver certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®).
The 36,000-square-foot Graham Building, which opened in August next to Sojka Pavilion, houses new training facilities for the wrestling team. Bucknell Student Health, the Counseling & Student Development Center and the new Wellness Center are located on the first floor.
The social hub of the new South Campus residential quad, MacDonald Commons offers à la carte dining, a multipurpose room and lounges. The building’s sustainable features earned the first gold LEED® certification at Bucknell.
