Bucknell's​ ​Martin​ ​Luther​ ​King​ ​Jr.​ ​Week​ ​brings​ ​various​ ​scholars​ ​to​ ​campus​​ ​to​ engage​ ​our​ ​community​ ​in​ ​a​ ​conversation​ ​about​ ​Dr.​ ​King's​ ​legacy​ ​and philosophies​ ​with​ ​regard​ ​to​ ​current​ ​struggles.

MLK​ ​Week​ ​2018​​,​ ​"​​​​​​​Critical​​ Reflections​​ on​​ Current​​ Struggles​"​​​ ​​​​takes​​​ place​​ from​​​ ​​​Jan.​​ 15-21 ​​​and​​ includ​e​s ​a charitable gift drive and an array of events designed to raise awareness and empower participants to enact individual and community change.

Charitable​ ​Donations​ ​Drive

This​ ​year​ ​the​ ​following​ ​items will​ ​be​ ​collected​ ​on​ ​January 15-18​ ​and​ ​21.​ ​Collection​ ​bins will​ ​be​ ​located​ ​at​ ​the​ ​CAP Center,​ ​evening​ ​lectures,​ ​and the​ ​Sunday​ ​morning​ ​service.

Items​ ​Needed:

  • personal​ ​hygiene​ ​items
  • Cheerios
  • children's​ ​hats/mittens (new​ ​or​ ​gently​ ​used)
  • school​ ​supplies (new​ ​or​ ​gently​ ​used)

Organizations​ ​supported​ ​by these​ ​donations:

  • Transitions​ ​of​ ​PA Head​ ​Start​ ​sites
  • Lewisburg​ ​Area​ ​Snack​ ​Pack
  • other​ ​local​ ​agencies
