Independent filmmaker Alex Ross Perry will present the Pennsylvania premiere of his fourth and newest film, Queen of the Earth, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. in the Campus Theatre.
In his fourth and most unnerving feature, Perry delivers a bracing psychodrama starring Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss. After father's death and a painful breakup, Catherine (Moss) absconds to the refuge of her best friend's lake house. In this idyllic setting plays out an intensely intimate friendship between two women, a bond acutely tested by frayed nerves. Commended for its performances, 16mm cinematography and minimalist score, Queen of Earth is an intricately orchestrated examination of isolation and delusion.
Bucknell University Film/Media screenings are shown at the Campus Theatre, located at 413 Market St. in Lewisburg.
Queen of the Earth is part of the Tuesday Film/Media Series. The event is open to the public. Admission is free for Bucknell students; all others are $2 each.
