The Bucknell Opera Theatre will perform Knit, Play, Love: An Evening of Three American One-Act Operas on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Both shows are free and open to the public.
The show contains three separate selections: Seymour Barab's A Game of Chance, Samuel Barber's Hand of Bridge and Leonard Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti. All three operas are based in the 1950s and feature people who are not happy with their current predicament and are looking for something better.
Under the direction of Professor Emily Martin, music, and Maestro Jennifer Peterson, the Bucknell Opera Theatre will feature special guest baritone Brian Mextorf. Design credits include Andrea Nice (sets), Elizabeth Wisler (costumes) and William Kenyon (lighting).
