LEWISBURG, Pa. — The staff of the Bucknell University yearbook has received an Award of Excellence for its yearbook design and coverage by Taylor Publishing Company.
The yearbook, L'Agenda, is featured in the 2005 Yearbook Yearbook and was evaluated in one or more of several areas including cover design, theme development and page design. Taylor Publishing recognizes only the top five percent of yearbook staffs for outstanding yearbook achievement.
"The Award of Excellence is given each year to a small percentage of yearbook staffs nationwide that demonstrate excellence in yearbook creation," said Mike Taylor, marketing manager at Taylor Publishing. "We applaud these staffs for their outstanding work and support their efforts in scholastic journalism."
According to Molly Pavlechko, adviser for L'Agenda, this award reflects the hard work of all the student staff members who spent many hours of their own free time taking photos and designing the yearbook, which will be delivered to members of the Class of 2005 in September.
Since its first edition in 1889, L'Agenda has won numerous awards for excellence.
The editors responsible for the 2004-05 edition of L'Agenda were seniors Meghan Ball, Bethesda, Md.; Sabrina Kautz, Hillsborough, N.J.; Michelle Martin, Manahawkin, N.J.; Kirsten Smith, Antioch, Ill.; and Chris Stokes, Port Murray, N.J.; junior Adelaide Rump, West Chester, Pa.; and Marnina Cherkin, Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., and Victoria Miller, Camp Hill, Pa., who graduated in May from Bucknell.
