LEWISBURG, Pa. — The department of theatre and dance at Bucknell University will present its annual Studio Dance Concert Nov. 16 and 17 at 6 p.m. in the Powers Theatre, Coleman Hall. Admission is by donation.
The concert will showcase works by this semester's dance classes, including various levels of jazz, ballet, modern and Chinese water sleeves.
Among the pieces to be performed are works choreographed by two members of the Bucknell dance faculty, Kelly Knox and Jennifer Schmermund.
Adjunct professor of dance at Bucknell and a 2000 Bucknell graduate, Schmermund also will perform her solo, "Sinistrality."
In addition, New York guest artist KC Chun will perform Schmermund's piece, "Heirloom," the sister piece to "Billy (Sweet William)", a work that will premiere in the Bucknell Dance Company concert in December.
Chun and Schmermund are co-artistic directors of Fresh Blood Productions, a Brooklyn-based dance company.
"This year marks a significant break from past years when the concert took place in Tustin Dance Studio," said Schmermund.
"If you enjoy the Studio Concert, stay tuned for the Bucknell Dance Company concert Dec. 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. in the Powers Theatre. The December concert will feature works presented by faculty, students and guest artist Elizabeth Cooper," she said.
