LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bucknell University will offer three "Quickbooks" workshops March 13, 14 and 15 in Room 214 of the Dana Engineering Building at Bucknell. The schedule is:

  • "Quickbooks Basic" Monday, March 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; system requirements, choosing the appropriate version of Quickbooks, general navigation, setting up your company, setting up the chart of accounts, setting up vendors and customers, company preferences, creating transactions, entering bills/paying bills, reconciling bank accounts.

  • "Quickbooks Intermediate" Tuesday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; setting up classes, setting up your budget, journal entries, standard Quickbook reports, memorizing reports, customizing forms and letters, and using the Help Menu/Find feature.

  • "Quickbooks Advanced" and Quickbooks Payroll" Wednesday, March 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; options for payroll, setting up payroll items, employees, and sick and vacation time, how to create and print paychecks, process payroll liabilities, 941 forms and W2s, using time sheets, and creating important reports for payroll as well as customizing invoice templates, importing a logo, invoicing/receiving payments, creating/applying credit, accessing finance charges, creating estimates, and working with inventory.

Diane Dorman, a seminar instructor and small business Quickbooks consultant with more than 11 years' Quickbooks experience, will lead the seminars. Trained under Real World Training for Quickbooks, she is also a Certified Quickbooks Pro Advisor.

The Bucknell SBDC will offer two eBay workshops Thursday, March 16, in Room 221 of the Dana Engineering Building at Bucknell. The first, "eBay: Beyond the Basics," will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The second, "eBay Stores and ProStores," will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.

Marguerite Swope will lead the seminar. She is an eBay PowerSeller, an eBay University Instructor, an eBay Education Specialist, and an eBay Trading Assistant.

Topics covered in Beyond the Basics include how to start and/or grow an eBay-based business, listings and stores, marketing your business on eBay, managing your listings, and completing a sale. Topics covered in eBay Stores and Prostores include store inventory listings, customizing your store, cross-promoting your items, understanding sales and traffic reports, promoting your store, and extending with ProStores.
