LEWISBURG, Pa. — Kanye West will perform in concert Saturday, Oct. 21, at 8 p.m. in the Sojka Pavilion at Bucknell University.
West is easily the biggest name to come to the campus for several years and is expected to draw a sold-out crowd to Sojka Pavilion, according to Kari Conrad, associate dean of students and director of the Office of Campus Activities and Programs at Bucknell, who adds, "West is a powerful and notable force in the music industry with six Grammys under his belt."
West started as a producer working with artists such as Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and Ludacris before making his debut with "The College Dropout" in 2004. The album features one of his best known songs, "Jesus Walks" which was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2005 Grammys and won the award for Best Rap Song.
West continued his success with the release of his second album, "Late Registration." After its release, he was nominated for eight Grammy awards in 2006, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album. He won the award for Best Rap Song for "Diamonds of Sierra Leone" and Best Rap Solo Performance for "Gold Digger."
Tickets for the Kanye West concert are $40 and can be purchased at the Bucknell Weis Center Box Office at 570-577-1000 or online at www.bucknell.edu/boxoffice/
