Both the Department of Music and Department of Theatre and Dance will celebrate the Presidential Inauguration of John Bravman by offering two consecutively scheduled performances on Friday evening, Nov. 12, in adjacent theatres. Both events are free and open to the public.
A concert with the Bucknell Symphonic Band begins at 8 p.m. in the Weis Center for the Performing Arts.
Directed by Bucknell Professor of Music William Kenny, the band will perform Bucknell Professor Jackson Hill's "Bucknell Fantasy" and Copland's

There will be a brief intermission to allow audiences to move from the Weis Center to the Harvey M. Powers Theatre for the second part of the performing arts showcase.
Audience members may view art work from the Department of Art and Art History on display in the Weis Center before the concert.
Theater and dance
"Amuse-Bouches: Enjoy a Taste of Theatre and Dance" begins at 9 p.m. in the Powers Theatre, Coleman Hall. The performance will be "a brief and lively presentation created by the entire department's faculty, staff and more than 80 students," said director Bob Gainer, professor emeritus of theater and dance at Bucknell.
"This event is historic in that it is the first-ever complete collaboration of all faculty, staff, and students in both our theatre and dance programs," said Paula Davis, chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance and associate professor of costume design and history.
"Our department is pleased and honored to be a part of this momentous occasion, and to highlight the creative and technical talents of our campus community."
Fall Dance Showcase
The department's Fall Dance Showcase will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, with two performances at 2 and 8 p.m. in Powers Theatre, Coleman Hall. Admission is $4 per person.
"This Fall Dance Showcase features an eclectic array of dance work by faculty, students, guest artists, and student dance groups," said Dustyn Martincich, assistant professor of theatre and dance and faculty director of the performance.
"Ranging from modern and tap to Chinese Watersleeves, and hip hop and social dance to classical South Indian dance, there is certainly something for everyone.
"Featured guest artists include Shoba Kumar and her daughter Kayal, who will be performing classical South Indian dances Mohiniyattam and Bharathanatyam, and Bucknell alumni Yabei Chen and Abigail Dearman, who set contemporary jazz and ballet works. The concert is student directed by Bucknell seniors Leigh Bryant and Abigail Mason," said Martincich.
Tickets may be purchased in advance in person or online from the campus box office, located in the Weis Center, and at the door prior to each performance.
