The department of history is featured on the American Historical Association's Historians TV website. This video highlights how the faculty are dedicated to experiential learning, working closely with students to provide them with the necessary tools for pursuing their own independent investigations of the past.
History majors must take a minimum of eight History courses, including at least one 300-level seminar taken during the senior year as a Culminating Experience,

History majors at Bucknell collaborate closely with faculty mentors in their research, while at the same time shaping their own methodologies, foci, questions and answers. Selected students work on honors thesis which are sometimes published or recognized by national organizations.
