Majors & Minors
At Bucknell, you can choose from a much larger selection of majors, minors and courses than other liberal arts colleges and universities. But you won't be limited to just one path.
You can major in English and go to medical school, major in anthropology and become a filmmaker, or major in engineering and become a manager. That's the beauty of a liberal arts mission that empowers personalized education.

Legal Studies
The legal studies minor requires at least five courses, one course from each of the five categories listed below. No more than three of these courses may be in a single department.

Bucknell markets, innovation & design majors learn to recognize what consumers want — before they even know they want it — and build careers developing the products, brands and messages to meet those desires.
Modern Hebrew Studies
Bucknell Modern Hebrew students learn the language of the state of Israel and can choose from a range of language and culture classes, including film, literature and history.
Neuroscience
Bucknell University's neuroscience major combines the expertise of our top-tier psychology, biology and animal behavior programs. Students explore how the brain and nervous system affect appetite, the cognition of music and more.
Peace & Conflict Studies
Peace & conflict studies explores the causes and nature of human conflict from the interpersonal to the global level.
Physics & Astronomy
Explore the universe in our nationally recognized Department of Physics & Astronomy, which offers bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in physics and biophysics.
Political Science
Bucknell's political science program prepares students to work for change in the world, with opportunities to conduct meaningful, faculty-guided research.
Psychology
Bucknell psychology majors gain more than outstanding classroom instruction. Students will have opportunities to conduct faculty-guided research in our animal lab, study abnormal psychology at Danville State Psychiatric Hospital or work with children at our on-site child care center.
Public Policy
Public policy as defined by Kraft and Furlong (2007) is “what public officials within government, and by extension the citizens they represent, choose to do or not to do about public problems. Public problems refer to conditions the public widely perceives to be unacceptable and therefore requiring intervention.”
Race & Ethnicity Studies
The minor in race & ethnicity studies takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of race and ethnicity.
Russian Studies
Majors in Russian at Bucknell gain a decisive edge for career success in law, journalism, international affairs, business, and public and government services.
Social Justice
The core courses are intended to provide students with the ability to assess contrasting views of what constitutes social justice and include both self-reflection and critical thinking. In addition, core courses may also give historical background on an issue or issues of social injustice and/or provide an introduction to concepts such as oppression and privilege.
Sociology & Anthropology
Explore the complex, fascinating relationships among individuals, groups and societies around the world with a major in either sociology or anthropology.
Spanish
