Mary and Frank Fetchet P'99, P'04, P'11 often describe Bucknell as an extension of their family. "Bucknell was a perfect fit for our sons. The quality of the education, the development of deep friendships and the alumni networking opportunities have all tied into their successful professional lives," says Frank.
The Fetchets recently pledged a gift toward the Bradley J. Fetchet September 11th Memorial Scholarship, created in memory of their son Brad '99 following his death in 2001. The scholarship fund was established by friends of the family, along with the Fetchets' sons Wes '04 and Chris '11. "We believe in the long-term power of endowed gifts, and the Malesardi Match accelerated our plans to keep our son's legacy alive by helping to ensure that talented students continue to benefit, as our three sons have, from a wonderful education at Bucknell," the couple said.
The Fetchets also stay connected to the University by offering summer internships at Voices of September 11th, the nonprofit organization they established, which provides long-term services to those impacted by 9/11 as well as to communities affected by other acts of mass violence, both in the U.S. and abroad. "We have an ongoing relationship with the Career Development Center and each year are honored to host Bucknell student interns who work alongside our staff to advance our mission. The talented interns are a wonderful extension of our enduring relationship with Bucknell," Mary says.
