The new Bucknell Magazine app brings the best of Bucknell to your smartphone or tablet.
November 11, 2015, BY Matt Hughes
Bucknell University alumni have consistently reported that reading Bucknell Magazine is one of their favorite ways to keep abreast of all that's happening at their alma mater. In an effort to bring those stories to our students, parents and alumni wherever they are, and in as many mediums as possible, Bucknell recently introduced the Bucknell Magazine app for smartphones and tablets.
Launched simultaneously with the Fall 2015 issue of the magazine, the app offers all the magazine's news and feature stories (Class Notes not included) just as they appear in the print edition, enhanced with additional photos, videos, audio recordings and online-exclusive stories. In addition to their original, full-color format, stories can also be viewed in a text reader for easy reading on smartphone screens.
"The Bucknell Magazine app makes it easy to find out what's happening on campus today and to learn about intriguing fellow alumni," said Sherri Kimmel, the magazine's editor. "I'm pleased we can now offer the magazine in a more portable format for our readers who prefer to read the magazine on their phones or tablets."
The app, available for iOS and Android devices, is free and available for anyone to download. A limited number of the magazine's back issues are also available for browsing within the app. Multimedia and bonus content, as well as other content featured in the print edition, is also available at bucknell.edu/bmagazine. Below is just a sample of what you'll find in the app this issue:
Take a photo tour of the world's largest pipe organ with Billie Jane Boyer Maul '57 and hear the organ play the Bucknell fight song and Alma Mater.
Step inside Bucknell's new residence life complex, South Campus Apartments, with a video tour and photo gallery.
Watch the full video of the speech U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati '81 gave at Bucknell on Oct. 15.
Join Herbert Wilcox '50 as he tracks the paths of six Bucknellians over 60 years — from their arrival on campus to retirement within 300 yards of one another - in an online exclusive story.
