About Denelle Brown
Denelle Brown started as the associate dean of students in 2016. Denelle leads Diversity and Inclusion in Student Affairs and provides administrative oversight for International Student Services; the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer Resource Center; Multicultural Student Services; Religious & Spiritual Life; and the Women's Resource Center. She works in concert with students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and parents to create the intentionally inclusive and diverse Bucknell community that we aspire to be.
Most recently she has served as associate vice president for student life and director of diversity and inclusion at Alma College. Previously, Denelle served as director of multicultural student life and director of minority student affairs at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a strategist, collaborator, student advocate and dynamic leader drawing on more than 19 years of experience in higher education.
Denelle is a native of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She earned a bachelor's in psychology and a master's in higher education administration from Southern Illinois University. She has a strong commitment to student retention and success, with an intentional focus on preparing students for an increasing global and inclusive society. In her spare time, Denelle loves spending time with her two beautiful daughters, and traveling.
