About Stephanie Litz
Stephanie graduated from Clarks Summit University with a Masters of Science in Counseling. She is a central Pennsylvania native, but lived in Alaska during her early childhood. Stephanie previously worked in a community counseling center that provided services to clients recovering from substance abuse as well as treating co-occurring disorders. She also ran the organization’s newly established mental health intensive outpatient program. Prior to transitioning into the counseling field, Stephanie worked for twenty-five years as a nationally certified sign language interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Stephanie utilizes a person-focused, strengths-based approach when working with clients. Whether students seek counseling to learn strategies for navigating academic stress, interpersonal challenges, past traumas, or for personal growth, Stephanie believes that solutions and healing can be found by boldly addressing issues, challenging thought patterns, and believing that change is possible when one is willing to do the work. She welcomes all students and is particularly interested in helping those who have challenges with multiracial identities, disabilities, chronic illness, substance abuse in the family of origin, and blended family dynamics.
During her free time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and goldendoodle, reading, craft projects, and listening to Christian music.
