Summer Programs and Conferences Slated for June 5 through Aug. 1

Bucknell University will host about 4,000 visitors participating in nearly 40 conferences beginning June 5 through Aug. 1.
Bucknell-affiliated programs
Bucknell's annual Reunion Weekend will be held May 28-31 with thousands of alumni and families returning to campus for the weekend activities. Weather permitting, the May 30 celebrations will end with fireworks.
The University's alumni summer guest program, which offers accommodations for alumni families in Bucknell West, is scheduled for June 5 through July 25.
The summer session will be held June 8 to July 17 for enrolled students as well as students participating in the Bucknell Community College programs. Other Bucknell-sponsored conferences include Engineering Camp June 21-26; College Admissions Workshop June 25-26; Project Lead the Way July 19-31; E-3 engineering workshop July 22-24; and a MERCURY undergraduate chemistry conference July 23-25. In addition, students will participate in summer research programs.
Students, faculty and visiting poets participating in the 31st annual Seminar for Younger Poets will read from their works during the seminar held June 7-28. Visiting poet Mary Szybist, a native of Williamsport, will join Director G.C. Waldrep and staff members Deirdre O'Connor, Chet'la Sebree and Justin Boening.
Readings, which are free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. in the Stadler Center for Poetry in Bucknell Hall. Six of the Seminar Fellows will read on June 11. Szybist will read with six of the Seminar Fellows on June 21. The final reading with all Fellows is scheduled for June 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Bucknell Hall.

Sports camps include: women's lacrosse clinic June 7 and July 25; girls elite basketball prospects camp June 12-13; girls basketball team shootout June 14; girls basketball skills day camp June 15-17; Bison baseball day camp June 16-17; boys lacrosse June 28-July 1; girls lacrosse June 29-July 2; girls team soccer camp July 8-11; Bison System wrestling camp July 12-15; boys soccer July 12-15 and July 17-20; Bison Brawl men's lacrosse clinic July 16, July 24 and July 30; cross country/track camp July19-23; field hockey camp July 20-23; girls individual soccer camp July 21-24; and boys baseball July 22-25.
The Bison Long Course will be held May 11-July 25; Lewisburg Gators June 2-July 23; the WSY Summer Long Course Classic will be held June 11-14; and the Mid-Atlantic Long Course Championships are scheduled for July 21, 22 and 25.
Football recruiting camps will be held June 6, June 20 and Aug. 1. A wrestling dual meet and tournament is scheduled for July 11. A PIAA football officials clinic will be held July 19.
