Teaching & Learning Center
The Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) provides resources and programs to develop thoughtful educators and learners; we introduce and support a broad range of pedagogical practices and effective learning strategies.
Our Faculty Development programs support faculty members at all levels across their professional roles with a particular emphasis on those early in their careers and a primary focus on teaching.
Our Student Learning Support programs help students across all colleges and class years make progress toward their academic goals and build on their strengths as learners through direct support and with campus partners.
The TLC opens conversations among faculty, staff and students to share ideas and facilitate collaborative relationships across the University. We have a purposeful commitment to learner-centered, active, inclusive, and reflective practices, and we model these values in our work.
For Students
We offer many different program options to help students succeed including facilitated study groups, peer tutoring and academic coaching, as well as video resources, printable study aids and workshops on academic success skills. Our facilitators and tutors participate in regular professional development programming certified by the internationally-recognized College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
For Faculty & Staff
We run a respected, highly-attended series of weekly presentations, workshops and learning communities geared to a variety of faculty needs and interests. These programs draw heavily from on-campus resources and frequently highlight local expertise. We place a special emphasis on those who are new to the University. Through our events, programs and services, we aim to ease the transition to Bucknell and aid in the development of thoughtful educators.
