Recycling & Waste Reduction
As part of Bucknell’s commitment to sustainability across campus, single stream recycling bins are located throughout campus. Bucknell Facilities performs all the hauling and sorting of collected waste from the outside containers. We are dedicated to improving the percentage of recycled waste and finding ways to make it easier to recycle.

Where to Recycle on Campus
In residence halls: If you live in a traditional residence hall, take your trash and recycling to one of the common collection areas in your building. If you live in apartment-style housing, take your trash and recycling directly to the outdoor dumpsters.
In dining areas: Avoid take out containers when you can. Bison Kitchen offers a number of sustainable dining options to help you avoid single-use items when eating on campus. When you have unwanted leftovers in a recyclable take-out container, first scrape off or discard any food scraps into a trash can and then recycle your take-out plastic and paper.
In the office: The desk-side bins in your office are for recycling. Please dispose of non-recyclable waste in the centralized landfill or trash bins in your office building.
