The Office of Campus Sustainability provides strategic direction and day-to-day leadership on sustainability initiatives, oversees sustainability reporting, and implements and assesses progress of the University's Sustainability Plan, in coordination with four University-wide working groups of students and employees.

Vision

Consistent with Bucknell's mission and strategic plan, the Office of Campus Sustainability envisions a future in which Bucknell becomes and remains a local-to-global sustainable living-learning community that leads the way in sustainability in the realms of academics, public policy and leadership.

Bucknell defines sustainability as encompassing "principles and practices that advance the long-term viability and resilience of our environmental, social and economic support systems. These principles and practices work at every scale, from local-to-global, and are fundamental to creating a more just, equitable and abundant future." To this end, sustainability at Bucknell recognizes emerging global issues including sustainable development, circular economies, corporate social responsibility, environmental health and safety, climate change, resilience and adaptation, and environmental, social and governance principles.
