Mathematics Scholars Program
Bucknell's Mathematics Scholars program awards $20,000 annually to applicants majoring in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics who demonstrate superior academic performance.
Financial need is not a requirement, and the scholarship is automatically renewed for second, third and fourth years as long as recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress and meet requirements of the program.
Recipients will receive notifications along with their admissions decisions.
A limited number of Mathematics Scholar awards are granted in order to establish a core group of students who will foster a culture of creative learning, problem-solving and student research in mathematics at Bucknell.
To receive and maintain the scholarship, students must:
- Major in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics (with a formal declaration before or by the second semester of their sophomore year)
- Take at least one math class per semester
- Maintain an overall grade point average of 3.5
- Remain in good social standing at Bucknell
- Continue to fulfill the responsibilities agreed upon with the Mathematics Scholars program coordinator
