Presidential Fellowships
Presidential Fellowships award a $30,000 annual merit scholarship renewable over four years. As the University’s most prestigious academic award, it offers high-achieving, intellectually curious students an opportunity to participate in significant, long-term projects under the mentorship of University faculty or staff, while also being part of an active scholarly community with other Fellows.
Please note: Bucknell's Presidential Fellowship awards will conclude with the Class of 2028. Beginning with the Class of 2029, Presidential Fellowships will be replaced with new merit scholarships in each of our three colleges (Arts & Sciences, Engineering and the Freeman College of Management). Presidential Fellows in the Classes of 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 will retain their Presidential Fellowship awards and continue in the program. Details about the new scholarships will be available soon.
Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at Bucknell.
Presidential Fellows dedicate six to eight hours per week during the academic year on a challenging, long-term project that matches their interests, for which they may earn up to $2,000. Fellows are invited to academic and cultural activities on campus and participate in special professional development events.
Note: Fellows may change their fellowship positions as their interests grow and develop.
Most funding is awarded to students who have demonstrated institutional need as determined by Bucknell’s Office of Financial Aid, but a limited amount will also be awarded to those who do not have financial need or do not apply for aid.
