Interfaith Community Engagement

Hosted in partnership with Bucknell's Office of Religious & Spiritual Life and Center for Community Engaged Leadership, Learning & Research, the Interfaith Community Engagement Pre-Orientation Program (ICEPOP) provides a foundation of belonging in a multi-faith community of incoming students and mentors, a chance to develop leadership skills and an opportunity to engage with our local community. We welcome incoming Bucknell students from diverse religious, non-religious, spiritual and secular identities. All incoming students are welcome to participate.

We explore foundational questions such as, "Where am I?" "Who am I?" and "Who will I become?" Through guided conversation, community building, exploration of our local landscape, and partnership with a range of community organizations in the Susquehanna Valley, we provide the opportunity to explore questions of purpose, belonging and leadership in community.

What You’ll Do

ICEPOP will introduce you to the many civic engagement opportunities on and off campus while exploring deeper questions of meaning, purpose and spirit. The experience will begin with an overnight immersion in an area of our community that will highlight areas of need and how you can make an impact with your time here at Bucknell (specific details about accommodations will be available soon). While exploring these engagement opportunities, you will begin to ponder — in community — the deeper questions on purpose and meaning that will follow you throughout your journey at Bucknell.

Who It’s For

ICEPOP is for any incoming student.
