Giving Societies
Every gift makes the Bucknell experience even more extraordinary for the students of today and tomorrow.
Giving societies recognize donors for their generosity, sustained support of the University and commitment to establishing their legacy at Bucknell.
We are grateful to all of our supporters and proud to recognize them as part of the following giving societies.
Annual Giving
The Cornerstone Society recognizes donors with three or more years of consecutive giving at any level. Members receive special recognition during major campus events, and may be featured in Bucknell communications.
The Gateway Society includes alumni who make annual gifts at specific giving levels during their first 14 years after graduating. Members receive invitations to special celebrations during major campus events, including Homecoming & Family Weekend, Reunion and Commencement.
- Senior year: $50
- 1–4 years post-graduation: $500–$999
- 5–9 years post-graduation: $1,000–$1,499
- 10–14 years post-graduation: $1,500 or more
The Christy Mathewson Society recognizes leadership annual gifts of $2,500 or more. Members receive invitations to special celebrations during major campus events, including Homecoming & Family Weekend, Reunion and Commencement.
- Scholar: $2,500–$9,999
- Professor: $10,000–$24,999
- Dean: $25,000–$49,999
- Provost: $50,000 or more
The Parents Leadership Giving Circle recognizes the generosity of parents who make an annual gift of $10,000 or more to the University.
Lifetime Giving
Bucknell's lifetime giving recognition societies are based on cumulative gifts. Members receive special recognition from the University and invitations to exclusive events, and may be featured in Bucknell communications.
- Order of the Bison: $100,000–249,999
- 1846 Society: $250,000–$499,999
- Founders' Society: $500,000–$999,999
- William Bucknell Society: $1 million or more
Planned Giving
The Ellen Clarke Bertrand Society includes alumni, parents and friends who have included Bucknell in their estate plans, or who have completed a life income gift, retained life estate or charitable trust of any size. Members receive a certificate and invitations to participate in Bertrand Society events.
